The Iraqi government (the Ministry of Communications) charges 17% of net project income (not profits!), as well as 20% of total revenue to the Ministry of Finance as sales tax. That 37% of the total revenue represent more than 65% of the profits, the amount can be very large considering the economic distress suffocating Iraq represented by the decline in oil prices in the world markets.

This project will provide a huge revenues for the economy in Iraqi. It will be an international gateway to the global data ports across Iraq forming important economic resource for the first time as the country didn’t get that chance before. Internet networks in the Gulf and the Middle East are connected by submarine cables, which are connected all over the world. Optical cables pass through the Red Sea and Egypt or spread across the African continent, and since the cables pass beneath the oceans, they have problems and difficulties upkeeping and maintaining the cables and sometimes repairing a damage can take up to weeks, but the new network will add road corridors to the existing submarine cable network and increase the number of lines linking Europe to the Middle East and the Far East.

In addition to enhancing the project the Iraq’s status as a pioneer in the technology market by activating the transit of global capacity, this project is an added value to the Iraqi national security through the interests of all countries of the world as a result to the passage of the international capacities in Iraq and which will encourage the international society to ensure the safety and security of Iraq.

It provides a secure infrastructure for the security and defense sectors through providing 6 optical filaments covering 4000 km. It will be completely separate from any project equipment, and it will provide ready infrastructure for CCTV projects, this will reduce the cost of building this system to 70% from the cost of connecting these cameras without the project.

3G and subsequent generations.

The project will increase the GDP of Iraq as well as increase the per capita income of Iraq, in line with the speed of the Internet, according to several studies, data of the World Bank and many other competent organizations.

This project will create giant data centers, Iraq will thus be a producer of information and knowledge.
